Preventing Acne: A Guide
You know what it’s like. You wake up in the morning and look in the mirror to see new pimples on your face. Acne is a common skin problem, but one that is surprisingly difficult to deal with at times. Unfortunately, there is no easy, fool proof way of stopping acne, but I can share a few tips that I’ve learned about.
The first key to remember is that you should always be washing your face. Acne is caused by a build up of oil and dirt that clogs your pours, leading to pimples. By using cleansers and astrigents to wash away this oil and dirt.
One important thing to remember: never pop your pimples. This might seem like a way to sole your immediate problem, but it can lead to unslightly scarring later on.
Make sure that you keep your hands away from your face. If you touch your face, you transfer acne forming dirt and oils. If you must touch your face, be sure to wash your hands first.
Diet can be important to preventing acne. It appears as if certain high fat foods can make pimples more pronounced. Ironically, there is some research to suggest that ingesting a good portion of healthy omega 3 fatty acids can lead to better skin. Omega 3 is commonly available in the form of fish oil supplements.
As a last resort, you should seek professional help in a dermatologist. They have special medicines and treatments that might work better for you. Of course, these often have unwanted side affects, but it may be worth checking into if you have a really bad case.
There are also natural cures for acne to consider. These include various herbs and treatments. It may be true that these work well but I have not checked myself.
Overall, there is no fool proof way of getting rid of acne. However, if you follow these tips, you should find it easier to keep things under control.
